The Cepher of the prophet Amoc Amos 1:1 THE words of Amoc, who was among the herdmen of Teqoa, which he saw concerning Yashar’el in the days of Uzziyahu king of Yahudah, and in the days of Yarov`am the son of Yo’ash king of Yashar’el, two years before the earthquake. Judgment on Israel’s Neighbors Amo 1:2 And he said, YAHUAH will roar from Tsiyon, and utter his voice from Yerushalayim; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Karmel shall wither. Amo 1:3 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed את eth-Gil`ad with threshing instru ments of iron: Amo 1:4 But I will send a fire into the house of Chaza’el, which shall devour the palaces of Ben Hadad. Amo 1:5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Aram shall go into captivity unto Qiyr, says YAHUAH. Amo 1:6 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom: Amo 1:7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof: Amo 1:8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holds the sceptre from Ashqelon, and I will turn my hand against Eqron: and the remnant of the Pelishtiym shall perish, says ADONAI YAHUAH. Amo 1:9 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Tsor, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant: Amo 1:10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tsor, which shall devour the palaces thereof. Amo 1:13 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gil`ad, that they might enlarge את eth-their border: Amo 1:14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind: Amo 1:15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, says YAHUAH. Amo 2:1 THUS says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Mo’av, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment there of; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: Amo 2:2 But I will send a fire upon Mo’av, and it shall devour the palaces of Qeriyoth: and Mo’av shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the shofar: Amo 2:3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, says YAHUAH. Judgment on Judah Amo 2:4 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Yahudah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised את eth-the Torah of YAHUAH, and have not guarded his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: Amo 2:5 But I will send a fire upon Yahudah, and it shall devour the palaces of Yerushalayim. Judgment on Israel Amo 2:6 Thus says YAHUAH; For three transgressions of Yashar’el, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; Amo 2:7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane את eth-my holy name: Amo 2:8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their elohiym. Amo 2:9 Yet destroyed I את eth-the Emoriy before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. Amo 2:10 Also I brought you up from the land of Mitsrayim, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess את eth-the land of the Emoriy. Amo 2:11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Naziyriym. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Yashar’el? says YAHUAH. Amo 2:12 But ye gave את eth-the Naziyriym wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. Amo 2:13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves. Amo 2:14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:
